Sagesse empowers individuals, organizations and communities to break the cycle of domestic violence. 1 in 3 Albertans will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. Sagesse approached NewPath to create video on their new campaign called – Real Talk. REAL Talk is a guide to help us understand and talk openly about domestic violence. Chances are you are close to or know someone impacted by domestic violence. Learn to break the cycle of domestic violence with just a few words.
NewPath was tasked with creating a short video, focused on 3 very different situations and people, who are all facing domestic violence and abuse. Mainly Sagesse wanted to see how a friend or colleague can reach out. They also wanted this video positive in nature and did not want to focus on the obvious negatives in depth. Director Tom Acton achieved this by integrating fast flashes of photography so the viewers did not have to watch the negativity throughout but it was still addressed. In the end, it is so important to speak up and ask to listen to those facing domestic violence and abuse. We learned that it is never as easy as simply leaving.
